Also, they are great as flock herders and watchdogs. However, the breed’s history is quite unclear. But it is believed that Brazil’s early European settlers brought their dogs and mixed them with the local dog breeds.

In addition, the appearance and behavior of these Brazilian terrier-type dogs suggest a very strong link with other terrier breeds including the Jack Russell and the Fox Terrier. There is also strong evidence that they are related to the Miniature Pinscher.
