History

The history of the Nebolish Mastiff is debatable but this breed is generally believed to have been developed originally in Canada during the 1960’s. Some dog historians believe that this mastiff breed can trace its roots to ancient Greek during the time of Alexander the Great and Aristotle. Others believe that this breed is a recreation of that ancient mastiff. The Nebolish Mastiff’s breeding stock is also subject to various debates. Some believe that they are the result of crossing various mastiffs including the English Mastiff, Dogue de Bordeaux, Bull Mastiff, Neopolitan Mastiff, Saint Bernard that were then bred with the Bull Terriers, Boxers and a line of Deutcshce Dogge. Others believe that the Nebolish Mastiffs are dogs produced if German Boxers and the French Bullmastiff are crossed. Then there are those that believe this breed is still in development.

Regardless of the numerous theories on this breed’s breeding development, The Nebolish Mastiff is a dog breed that was developed as very agile, very healthy and very long lived dogs. Among the more than 80 recognized mastiff breeds, the Nebolish is considered one of the rarest in the world.

Personality

The Nebolish Mastiff is a very large dog that has a dignified stance, a very alert expression and a very even-tempered disposition. These dogs are known to rarely barks but naturally protective and will be fearless and full of courage while protecting their family. They are loyal, affectionate and easy to train. It is an excellent family dog, a hard working livestock guardian and a highly desirable companion pet.

Nebolish Mastiffs were developed as very agile, very healthy and very long lived dogs.

Environment

The Nebolish Mastiff should not be kept as an apartment dog. They will not do great in the city. These dogs require a country setting in order to thrive. If kept in suburban areas, homes should have a large yard that is securely fenced. Although bred in Canada’s cold climate, this breed will thrive in warm weather conditions with lots of sun and plenty of water.

Grooming

The Nebolish Mastiff is a large dog that requires very minimal grooming attention. Brushing them brisk once a week will be sufficient. It is recommended to bathe them occasionally as these mastiffs just loves that water.

Exercise

The Nebolish Mastiff is a bit demanding and high maintenance when it comes to their activity needs. These are large dogs that requires ample space to move and run. They are dogs that will love outdoor and water activities such as hiking and swimming. If kept as indoor family dogs, it is recommended to take them out on walks every day.
