During the early parts of the 1930’s, breeders in the United States started crossing a variety of toy-dog breeds including the Manchester Terrier and the Chihuahua. Crossbreeding was also made using the Miniature Pinscher and the Italian Greyhound. Further, these dogs were then bred to various lines of the Smooth Fox Terrier. The result? The Toy Fox Terrier, a dog that has all the traits of the dogs mentioned but on a miniature scale.
