About Stella Bella

Distance: 1,443 Miles
Just as her name implies, Stella Bella is a beautiful star.  She came into the rescue when her family had to move away and couldn’t take her with her in her “condition”, pregnant, within a week of giving birth.  She had only know one family and was devastated.  Alone, trying to protect herself and her unborn pups, it was hard for her to trust.  She was very reluctant to let her guard down. Fortunately for her, a volunteer husband and wife who walked dogs at the boarding facility met her and fell in love and agreed to foster.   The day before they were scheduled to bring her home, she gave birth to 10 beautiful babies.  The next day, instead of one foster, they had 11.  For 8 weeks, Bella did a wonderful job of taking care of her puppies, of course, with the much needed assistance of her foster family.  10 pups is a lot of responsibility.   We soon realized that while Bella was a mom, she was also very much a puppy herself.   Even though she’s over three years old, she has discovered “attention”, “loving attention.”  She had been with a family before, but had never realized the love that comes from being a member of her family.  She finally was able to feel truly loved, and she was able to be herself.  She loves deeply but first you have to earn her trust.  She trusts without question after that trust has been earned.  If we had to describe her in three words, it would be “typical German Shepherd.”  A few more words to describe her, energetic, energetic, and, oh, energetic. All of her puppies have found wonderful homes, and now it’s Bella’s turn.  She needs a home that has experience working with the “typical German Shepherd,” a home that does not have a lot of stranger traffic. and a family that understands proper introduction.  Her family has to be willing to give her the exercise, both physically and mentally, that she needs.  A walk around the block for Bella just won’t work.  She is working on her skills with the other dogs and we believe that she would love to have a canine partner in her home.  Of course, it has to be the right fit.  She had a larger dog friend before who she loved to play with.  She’s looking for a life of love and adventure, of course, structure and training, leadership, and guidance must be a part of that, and no small animals, please.  She has a very strong prey drive. Please visit www.coastalgsrsd.org/ to learn more about our dogs. Click on   available dogs   to see further descriptions. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers. We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Check our our website to see where we'll be next!
