Distance: 595 Miles
Date into Rescue: Dino originally arrived in rescue in early 2019. He was quickly adopted, but returned in March 2024 when his owner moved abroad. Reason for being in rescue: Dino was surrendered to a local shelter when his family moved and couldn't take him. CPR pulled him from the local shelter. He was adopted quickly but returned to rescue in 2024 when his owners moved out of the country and couldn't take him. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Dino is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 12 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $329 Fence needed? No, Dino is an inside only dog. What kind of home would be best for me? Dino is a 10-year-old little guy who would be great for an adopter that is looking to have an only dog. Dino's picture should be next to the definition of lap dog in the dictionary. He is used to being in a home, his previous owner moved out of the country and couldn't take him. Dino needs to be an only dog in a quiet home with no children. He bonds quickly to his people and doesn't share them. Dino is very protective of his house and family. He does not tolerate children or other dogs in his home. If you have children visitin, be prepared to put Dino into a crate or safe place away from them. He does not like to be left home alone and suffers from separation anxiety. Dino is looking for a loving, caring, and patient adopter will a lap he can snooze in as he enters his Golden Years. What is my personality like? Dino is a little guy with a big personality! He can be a bit timid when he first meets you, but that changes the moment he gets to know you. Dino gets along well with other dogs if they aren't sharing his home with him. He simply doesn't like to share and that is okay. Dino is smart and when bored he may act out and find things to keep him occupied. Dino is small enough that you can take him with you on most of your outings. He LOVES car rides! Dino needs a moderate amount of exercise; he loves walks so a walk or two a day would be great. Dino is leash and crate trained. He did very well with house training in his previous home and would go to the door and whine when he needed to potty. At his previous home he knew sit, stay and no. Dino could use some refresher training with his basic commands. He loves treats so they, along with loving praise, will quickly help him learn commands.  How do I act when I first meet new people? Dino is a little shy but warms up quickly. He loves the companionship of people and is the best snuggle buddy be it in your lap or in your bed.  Other tips and tidbits: Dino was born on or about 2/26/14. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
