NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS! Meet Chloe. This adorable scruffy pup was adopted six months ago from another rescue as a puppy to a family who was looking for more of a medium-sized pup. Chloe is only about 8.5 months old now and is over 60 pounds and still growing...she's going to be a BIG girl. There is a toddler already in the home, and a new baby coming, so it's not the right time to add a large, active puppy to their family. Chloe's owner reached out to a neighbor, who is also our team lead in SC, for help finding her a new home. Chloe has lived in a loving home her whole life, and they plan to foster her until we can find the right family. Chloe has good house manners and is both crate and potty trained. When she is left alone, she just goes into her crate and lays down. Her owner says she's great with kids, but as she's gotten bigger and jumpier as an adolescent, she has knocked the toddler over a few times. Some basic obedience training would help there, as it would for all eight-month-old dogs. Chloe gets daily walks for exercise and socialization. She goes for walks in the neighborhood, about two miles a day, and will pass and visit with other dogs of all sizes. She can be timid at first, but once she realizes they are no threat, she immediately wants to play. If she gets spooked by something on the walk (e.g., a dog barking nearby), she darts and pulls away. She also has a fenced backyard to romp in, and spends as much time outside as possible. Chloe is shy and timid at first. When first greeted by strangers, she hangs her head and looks at the ground. Once you pet her, she immediately tries to jump and play. She is exceptionally trainable and knows "sit" and is working on "stay," and goes into her crate when told. She is a big snuggler, and always wants to be near you, following her person from room to room. She is a very loving dog who is eager to please, and just wants your attention and affection and will do anything for it. She has no guarding tendencies and is very gentle when the toddler takes her toys or carries food around. She just lets it happen, and then gives the toddler a big kiss and walks away. This a very sweet girl who will make an excellent family dog, and would love to have a pup playmate in her home.
