More about the shelter
Second Chance Dog Rescue was formed to fulfill a desperate need in the community to “Rescue, Rehabilitate & Rehome” homeless dogs from families who can no longer take care of their animals due to financial distress, and from over-crowded local shelters.
Our program is based on foster care, and all rescued dogs spend their first days at a loving foster home where they receive personalized care. As part of our program, we ensure that all dogs have their shots, are micro-chipped, are spayed or neutered, and have been socialized by their foster family. In addition, Second Chance Dog Rescue provides support for potential new owners and monitors progress for both new pet parents and their adopted dogs. This helps guarantee that our dogs go to loving, forever homes.
We require an adoption questionnaire to be completed before a scheduled meeting. Then, if the meet & greet is successful, an adoption contract is entered into, with a two week trial period. An adoption fee is required at that time. If, during the two week foster trial period, the adoption is not working out, we will take the dog back and may refund a portion of the adoption fee.
About Taz
Distance: 3,696 Miles
Meet Taz! Taz is a 53 pound, 6-7 year-old Staffordshire- English Bulldog mix. She is the sweetest girl who wants nothing more than to always be by her person’s side. She wakes up happy and excited to start the day with a morning walk. Taz walks well on a leash and is a good eater. She absolutely loves to play fetch, and loves playing in the water. She is very smart and already knows "sit" and "down" with "shake" on the way. She is house trained but will need some time to acclimate to her new surroundings. Taz loves backyard gatherings and will be the life of the party, she loves socializing with others. She would love to sleep in the bed with you, and in turn will snuggle you all night. She currently lives with another big dog and gets along fine. Taz does require a little "getting to know you period", and can be reactive if new people move in too quickly with her, so we don't recommend she go to a home with small children. Can you give this amazing girl the great home she deserves? Taz is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date with her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300.
