About Shanti (kt) - Pending Adoption

Distance: 3,820 Miles
Hi, my name us Shanti.Breed: Lab/Canaan dog mixAge: 4 yearsGender: femaleWeight: 25 kgI was found when I was a little puppy with three of my siblings by a busy highway. My rescuer suspects city contractors killed my mother! I have had a pretty sad start in life but I’m hoping to turn that around soon! I have been living at the shelter since I’ve been found so I have not experienced living in a home with a loving family but I’m sure I will fit right in when I get to Canada!Energy Level: ModerateI get along with:Dogs: Yes for sure Cats: I like them but never lived with them so not sure how I react Kids: I love all sizes of humans but never lived with kids beforeI am a bit scared of strangers but once I know them and trust them I get a long with them. I am happy girl who loves to cuddle right close to my humans. I do not have any type of training but I am a fast learner and once I settle in my new home I will be on speed to learn everything!Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems!Basic training should be taken seriously and should begin within a day or two of arrival. After your dog has settled in, check out courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.I have been, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Due to my age, I will be spayed once I'm with my family in vancouver. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.Due to ongoing limits on Vancouver (YVR) flights, additional fees will apply if I have to fly through another city. Unaccompanied Cargo costs within Canada range from $275-$500 per dog (size depending). LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. NOTE: once I find a family, I will be on the first available flight out of the Middle East seeing as I need to leave here ASAP! If a direct flight to Vancouver is not immediately available, the cost to fly me via unaccompanied cargo from Montreal/Toronto to Vancouver will not be optional.[MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.
