More about the shelter
Our goal is to fight for the plight of all companion animals so that none of them will ever
have to experience the horrors of being imprisoned in a pound system, where most of them are executed for the “crime” of being unwanted and homeless.
Animals entering our sanctuary will be given exceptional loving care and all the necessary medical attention whether short term, until adopted or for their lifetimes.
The survival of the sanctuary depends entirely on the support and donations from supporters, members and volunteers.
Through their generous giving we will be able to save countless lives in the future.
After someone has found a pet of her or his liking on our site and contacted us we will make sure to get back to that person as soon as possible.
We require a potential adopter to fill out an application.
If the application is satisfactory we will contact the prospective new parent to set up a time to meet with the pet. We also do home checks to make sure that the house or apartment the pet will go to is safe. The pet will be brought to your home at the time of the home check and if everything looks goes well the pet will be left with you. We are asking for an adoption fee and we also will have you sign a contract.
We allow a two week trial period during which the money will be refunded if it turnes out to not be a match. After the two week period the adoption fee is not refundable.
About Bertha
Distance: 1,395 Miles
Bertha and her 4 puppies were found in the desert in 100 degree heat at a solar field. the puppies could be caught by had but Bertha had to be trapped which was a project of a few days. They all were reunited at Paw Parent and the puppies were overjoyed! Bertha is incredibly sweet, patient and gentle and was a fabulous mom. All her puppies got adopted and now she is waiting for someone to fall in love with her. She was extremely timid at first and had no idea what it meant to walk on a leash but has come out of her shell since then and loves to go on walks now. She just wants to be a good girl and be loved. Bertha has made a new friend here at Paw Parent, Stan, the handsome lab mix and loves to run and play with him. But she is otherwise very mellow and quiet and will make a wonderful friend for a lonely heart.
She weighs 68 pounds, is about 2 years old, is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Please email us at pawparent@gmail.com if you would like to meet her.
