About Sweetie (S. Korea) hz

**update** I'm currently being fostered in Seattle, WAHello everyone. My name is Sweetie and here is a little info about me:Breed: Jindo mixAge: 4 yearsGender: Female    Weight: 36 lbHeight: 49 cmHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, not scared of strangers, no escape tendency, no separation anxietyFound lokced up in a rusty and filty wire cage in South Korea, all I was given was food waste. I was very skinny and looked lifeless when my amazing rescuing saved me. From the very beginning, I was very friendly to humans and a very cheerful girl. You may find me a bit shy at first but I am very submissive to humans and would allow you to pet me and even lift me if you take the time and do it slowly. Once I completely open up to you, I'll be even more comfortable with pets and scratches. Car rides are not my favorite thing as I could feel very car sick and start drooling a lot. My energy level is moderate and I enjoy outdoor activites and like to rest/calm at home after walks. At the dog parks, you will find me focused more on sniffing here and there and minding my own business rather than trying to play with new friends. However, I do gently say hi to my new dog friends at the park but I will quickly run away and continue my sniffing adventure. Rarely will I bark at home, even when I'm left alone. I'm also crate trained and 90% hourse trained.  You will see I am friendly, cheerful & calm with no resource guarding issues toward humans or other dogs. I have only shown aggression to one dog among 30-40 dogs. During walks, I look very happy and confident. I follow my handler pretty well while enjoy sniffing here and there. Passing cars don't scare me and I'm not afraid of pedestrians, indeed I like approach people and say hi. After I finish peeing, I love kicking my back legs while looking really happy. Energy Level: ModerateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown / I have never met a cat!Kids: yesFears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: yes / I am crate trainedLeash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: 90% yes. Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
