About LUKA (Egypt) yo

Distance: 3,820 Miles
Hi, my name is LUKA and here is a bit about me:Breed: Canaan Dog/Pharoah Hound mixAge: 7 monthsGender: MaleWeight: 28 kgHeight: 57 cmHighlights: sweet, gentle, nervous near roads yet, playful, protective, devotedI am a sweet and loving pupper looking for my forever home.Born on the streets of Egypt, I have had a tough start to life. While my mom tried to do her best for us, we were unfortunately poisoned, and I was the only one of my siblings to survive. After that, I was attacked by another dog and suffered an injury to my back paw: https://youtube.com/shorts/n0G01suUo1Q?si=jvz1IMGCFSwUCFkj. Thankfully, I was saved by a kind human who took me in and helped me to recover at their home. https://youtube.com/shorts/bAsLI5kJYl0?si=A6dioenQf_7M6_aV. Yup, my paw is all healed now. After lots of love and care, I am now ready to find my forever home! My foster family describes me as incredibly sweet and gentle.https://youtu.be/4D76gohWZucI love to play and am also potty trained. Because of my start in life, I can be nervous going outside onto the street and will need a family that is willing to help me overcome my fears. Close calls with cars & having been attacked likely created this fear. So once I have time to learn I am safe and slow desensitizations going out, I should gain confidence. I know you will protect me and I will learn this.I'm a playful pup, who enjoys interacting with other dogs and kitties to: https://youtu.be/XAm-qAgrdw0  (isn't this just adorable?) I am a very devoted pup who will stay near you and protect you. I will move between you and other dogs, as I can be a bit jealous too. So, maybe best if we are the main buds of the house.  https://youtube.com/shorts/hqRPHO4Hvl4?si=MpligsumZMS_bQEu.Energy level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yesKids: unknownFears: nervous going onto the street. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis.
