More about the shelter
Our mission is Our mission is to rescue and care for stray and homeless animals while providing humane education to the community.
We work with members of the community to help cats in need. We conduct trap/neuter/return and place projects and train home and business owners on how to properly care for free roaming cats on their property and in their neighborhoods.
We focus in southern Dutchess County, but help people throughout Dutchess, Putnam and Orange counties by connecting them with local rescues that can work with them, loaning equipment, coordinating spay/neuter clinics and offering guidance.
We require a completed adoption application, home visit, adoption contract and a donation for each animal. The donation varies: kittens are $150, cats are $125 with promotions available.
About Natasha
Distance: 2,565 Miles
Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Natasha was being relentlessly harassed by residents in her neighborhood. They were throwing things at her, chasing her into oncoming traffic - she just missed being hit by a car and was frozen in fear with no idea where to turn. Yep, we agree, in a perfect world those mold under a rock people would be brought up on charges. Sadly, very little would be done to them. No one has come forward to claim her either.
Stray HELP volunteer focused on picking her up and taking her to safety instead, where it was quickly discovered she is super sweet and LOVES to be loved. In spite of her trauma, Natasha is doing very well and is looking for her forever happy home.
We estimate her birthday to be May 2023
Our required adoption donation is $150 per kitten or $125 per cat (older than 9 months). All our rescues are up to date on shots, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLV/Heartworm. They are dewormed, treated for parasites and free of fleas. Each is spayed or neutered and given a rabies vaccination.
An application must be completed to be considered to adopt from Stray HELP. You can download it from HERE OR directly ONLINE If your application is approved we conduct a home visit for final approval of adoption. To view more pictures of cats and kittens in our program visit us on FaceBook.
