About Rocio

Distance: 2,605 Miles
HISTORY: ROCIO was brought to the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and transferred to us when he was found to be FELV+.  Since he is likely to be a carrier of the virus, ROCIO needs an indoor home with no other cats, an FELV+ cat, or a healthy adult who has been vaccinated against the virus.  FELV suppresses the immune system and is specific to felines; it cannot be transmitted to other animal species or to humans.  ROCIO previously found a home through F&F, but his family can no longer keep him. TEMPERAMENT: Very sweet and playful, ROCIO can sometimes be a bit domineering with smaller cats or cats who show fear of him, but this behavior usually doesn't last long.  He bonds quickly with other cats and tolerates the toddler who sometimes visits his foster home, but ROCIO does not like dogs.  Though not a lap cat, he does love to be petted.  ROCIO is a handsome boy with a short coat and buff tabby and white markings. AGE: born approx. 6/4/12 MICROCHIP #: 981020007140927 DATE OF STERILIZATION: 9/11/12, SFAS VAX RECORD: Rabies: exp. 9/11/16; FVRCP: exp. 9/11/17 FELV/FIV test: 9/11/12, pos/neg ADOPTION FEE: $100 If you are interested in adopting this cat, please fill out our Adoption Application completely.
