About Rooney

Distance: 223 Miles
Foster Update 1/20/2015"Rooney was returned for a second time as the home she was in just wasn't a good fit. Rooney is a fun, active, inquisitive, kind of quirky little girl.  She at times is very outgoing, yet at other times seems almost shy. Rooney loves to play with toys and has recently learned to "drop it" as she sometimes does not like to share.  She can be a collector of items around the house, so its best to try to keep things you don't want her to get into put away.  Rooney is a good eater, crates well, but at times still needs to be watched with her housebreaking.  If you are looking for a little snuggle bug, Rooney is your girl." _____________________________________________________TB's Rooney is a beautiful, sleek, dainty girl.  She has an adorable prance in her step.  She's very friendly, gives kisses, chitters and likes to bury her head into you--how cute is she!!  She enjoys attention but not in a pushy way.  Rooney is 2 years old and cat tolerant with supervision.9/11/2014Rooney was returned after 3 days due to absolutely no fault of her own and she is in a foster home and waiting for her forever home.Foster Update 9/16/2014Rooney is a delightful two-year old girl (DOB 7/20/2012) and is perhaps the tiniest greyhound this experienced Greyhound lover has ever come across. I estimate her to be about 50 something pounds, though she is still gaining some needed weight. She is striking in both her dainty stature and shiny black coat. Her foster home includes three cats. She is curious about them, but is easily redirected from looking at them. We also have two resident greyhounds; she gets along with both and enjoys playing in our fenced-in yard with them.  We also have two dog-friendly children, ages 9 and 13; she does well with the children and readily receives gentle pettings from them. Both adults in our home work full time. While we are at work, Rooney is crated.  She goes in her crate easily and has had no issues with, or accidents in, the crate. At night, she sleeps on a dog bed next to our bed. She has mastered the stairs and our laminate/tile/wood flooring. She has made excellent progress in house living and manners and has learned that "pottying" is done outside on walks or in the fenced-in yard. Rooney walks well on a leash and enjoys her jaunts about the neighborhood.Rooney is an affectionate girl who loves the company of people. She has a warm, endearing quality and will make a loving companion to her lucky adopter.
