About Kelly

Distance: 1,443 Miles
This is a year of hope and promise for Kelly.  For all of her adult life, Kelly and her human mom lived together but then her human mom became ill and could no longer care for her.      Now that she's with Rescue, Kelly knows that her world is now right side up!  While she waits for her new forever home, she's been fortunate to be invited to stay in a foster home.  Here's what her foster mom has to say about her.  Kelly certainly needs daily walks but she also would be a perfect jogging, running, or biking companion.  She is high energy when exercising but once she is inside the house, she is calm. She maintains her calm and sweet nature with someone she can count on to teach her limits and boundaries. Kelly is a smart girl who has had some formal obedience training.  In fact, because she is very smart and eager to please, she'd love to continue formal obedience training and participate in some doggie sports.   In her foster home, Kelly is living with a female German Shepherd, two large males, and an eight pound poodle.  When she is out and about on walks, she is fine when other dogs pass by.  She's house broken and crate trained.  Her foster mom says that she has adapted quickly to her new foster home.  Kelly can't wait to meet you!  By the way, Kelly wants you to know that she's a fit and trim girl of about 45 pounds.  Like lots of girls, she thinks the photos make her look much bigger than she is!   Please visit www.coastalgsrsd.org/ to learn more about our dogs. Click on   available dogs   to see further descriptions. If you are interested in me, please contact us at  information@coastalgsrsd.org or call (858) 779-9149. Don't forget to fill out our online application. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers. We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Check our our website to see where we'll be next! Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California is a non-profit 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to finding loving homes for abandoned German Shepherds. Your tax deductible donations go to support these very deserving animals. Coastal was formed to serve communities in the counties of San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. We are committed to finding loving permanent homes for the orphaned dogs in our care. Coastal is an all volunteer, no-kill, 501 (c) 3 non profit organization.
