Xander is blind in one eye.  He has some stiffness in his back end that appears to be age related. Weight: 15 lb est Height: 12 in est Spayed/Neutered: Yes   Adoption Fee: $200   Fence needed? No   What kind of home would be best for me?  Xander has been the apple of his owner's eye for many years.  He would love another retired person that he can hang out with, maybe help some in the garden, eat a good dinner, watch TV and then head to bed.    What is my personality like? Xander's foster home described him as a "bluetooth" kind of guy.  He wants to be in line of sight but does not have to be touching you.  He loves to just hang nearby, watching and part of things but constant touching he does not need.     Xander's foster parents notes .... I think he might prefer to be an only dog. He's usually very ambivalent about the other dogs but still growls when they come into his space. Which would be fine except he chews his rawhides in the middle of the floor. I don't think they help with his separation anxiety, either.  I also suspect he's going to bond closely to a single person. He thinks I'm fine, but he follows Libby around. He's on the couch now whining because Libby left without him, rather than coming into the office to be near the rest of us. Earlier he tried to avoid his morning walk to go back to bed with Libby. He's a funny boy.   How do I act when I first meet new people? Curious - but not overly enthusiastic and not shy either.  Accepting and open.    Other tips and tidbits: Xander was originally a stray so we don't know his exact birthdate but it is around March of 2010. The very first picture we have posted is Xander now.  The others were Xander when he was adopted a few years ago.  He has not changed much !    House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
